CHURCHES in Cleator Moor will be hosting Lent Lunches.
These will be held throughout Lent in the run-up to Easter with hopes of raising money for Christian charities.
Mavis Moore, a volunteer at Cleator Moor Methodist Church, said: "We'll be hosting ecumenical soup lunches where all the churches in Cleator Moor take part and they all make soup.
"We'll have soup lunches every Wednesday starting on February 21 for five weeks until March 20 and they are from 12pm to 1pm.
"It will consist of soup, a roll, and tea, the minimum donation is £4 and this will go towards charity.
"All of the money goes to Christian Aid and Cafod, last year we managed to raise £830 and we're hoping to do the same again this year."
