THREE members of the Whitehaven Male Voice Choir travelled to the Langwathby Centre of the Great North Air Ambulance Service to present them with a cheque.
This was the group's chosen charity for the year, and they donated £1000 to the cause.
The money raised was a result of Christmas Carol singing at Dunmail Park, Workington, and the Whitehaven Tesco store.
A spokesperson said: "The choir members were made most welcome at the GNAAS’s centre where they were shown around by the on-duty crew who provided an interesting overview of the operation facilities and also an in-depth tour of the helicopter and the onboard medical capabilities available.
"The choir would like to thank all members of the public who donated to this cause for their support and generosity in raising this fantastic amount of money especially so near Christmas.
"Whitehaven Male Voice Choir is always looking for new members so if you fancy joining us why not come to one of our practice nights in St Gregory and St Patrick's Chapel on Quay Street Whitehaven, commencing at 7.30pm, where you would be made most welcome."
