THE National Trust for Whitehaven coast have been closely monitoring Whitehaven coast's capped mine shaft.
Ranger Chris has been out carefully measuring ground levels every meter across a capped mine shaft to watch for any changes and ground level alterations.
The National Trust shared that "working over an old mine though can sometimes bring up challenges and requires extra monitoring work."
However, the actions are pivotal for the area. As well as providing much needed green space for people and wildlife, the Whitehaven coast is rich with history which needs to be preserved through this work.
