MAINTENANCE work will begin on the two lighthouses at Whitehaven harbour.
The lighthouses were renovated with the help of CRS Facility Maintenance after they fell into a state of disrepair.
Back in 2022, the iconic North and West Pier lighthouses which dominate the view of the town's marina, were unveiled to the public after a full renovation project took place.
The maintenance work will now take place over a few years to ensure that the lighthouses maintain their renewed appearance.
A CRS Facility Maintenance spokesperson said: "As we begin the new year we also begin the initial stages of the Lighthouse Maintenance Schedule.
"The program spans over three years involving a mixture of planned, preventative and reactive maintenance.
"This month the CRSFM team tackles rust stains and problem areas within the external cast iron gutter on North Lighthouse.
"We will keep you all posted on our progress throughout the year."
