A CHURCH in Cleator what it will be doing for the remainder of the festive season.
St Mary's Church in Cleator has been keeping their congregation involved with events throughout December in the run-up to Christmas.
In the next week, they will be holding three Christmas masses and also a bereavement mass for people in the parish to come along and remember loved ones that they have lost.
Parish priest father Paul Johnstone said: "We always have a service before Christmas for the bereaved which will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 7pm.
"For a lot of people, the run-up to Christmas can be a very hard time for them so we do have a blessed choir service to acknowledge that.
"For the actual Christmas masses, we'll have a vigil mass which will be held on Christmas Eve on Sunday at 6pm, that's generally the one that most people come to nowadays.
"This will involve a traditional mass and we'll also come together to sing Christmas carols."
There will then be two services held on Christmas day, one at St Mary's Church and another at St Joseph's in Frizington, which is part of the same parish.
