CUMBERLAND Councillor Chris Wills has been selected by the Liberal Democrats to run for the new Whitehaven and Workington constituency seat.
The new constituency, as well as containing Whitehaven and Workington, also contains part of the Lake District centring around Ennerdale.
The Lib Dems said they believe Chris’ extensive experience of working across the whole area will make him a frontrunner to champion the constituency as its member of parliament.
Chris said: “With this new constituency we have an excellent opportunity to improve the lives of everyone in the area; especially with an expansion of green energy production and the many exciting careers this will bring to local people".
