THE Gather at Ennerdale is reminding the public that they will be running a community art project.
The initiative has been inspired by the saddening news of the vandalism caused to the famous sycamore tree located along the Hadrian Wall route in Northumberland.
Many people were saddened by the news that the tree had been seriously damaged.
The Gather decided they would host an art project running into the new year where people can submit artwork inspired by the sycamore.
June Pearson, a volunteer at The Gather, said: "The majority of people that exhibit with The Gather regularly are keen to take part in the project.
"Any art forms are welcome, all mediums such as fabric, photography, quilting, or sculptures can be used.
"We want to fill the exhibition room with all the art contributions.
"We're starting to put in place a programme of events for that which should begin in around six weeks with interesting guest speakers."
Any funds raised from the project and exhibitions will be put towards a tree-based project in Cumbria.
