A MAN has been fined after ‘squaring up’ to police while he was drunk.
Gary Woods, 33, was detained following advice from police to move away from a situation at The Ribton pub in Whitehaven where there could have been further trouble.
Graeme Tindall, prosecuting at Workington Magistrates’ Court, said Woods began ‘squaring up’ to officers and pushed past them.
There had been a woman in the pub who Woods had been in a relationship with and they ‘used to have their differences’.
Woods, of Cumberland Road, Hensingham, Whitehaven, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly.
The defendant, who was not legally represented, said he had nothing to add.
He was fined £166 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £66 victim surcharge.
