A MAN accused of subjecting his former partner to controlling and coercive behaviour has been discharged from court proceedings.
Kieran Floume, 26, of High Road, Whitehaven, had pleaded not guilty to engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour between December 31, 2019, and October 20, 2022.
It was alleged he had criticised the woman’s clothing, her driving, and her spending choices; stopped her communicating with certain people, monitored her movements using CCTV and constantly phoned her to check who she was with.
Floume was due to stand trial at Carlisle Crown Court this week but the prosecution offered no evidence and the defendant was discharged.
The judge formally recorded a not guilty verdict.
