Following concerns about speeding on roads in Cleator Moor and Arlecdon Cumbria Police have been tackling the issue.
The areas of concern were Trumpet Terrace in Cleator and the main road going through Arlecdon.
Officers were on hand with speed monitors this week to ensure drivers were keeping to the speed limit.
A spokesperson said: "You raised concerns around speeding in Cleator Moor and Arlecdon so in response to this PC2503 Pickering and PCSO 5357 Huck have been carrying out speed checks in these areas.
"We will continue to carry out these spot checks in our areas to deter speeding and ensure road safety."
