This week the Whitehaven Male Voice Choir held a concert with Millhouse Green Male Voice Choir.
Millhouse Green, who is from the Sheffield area, made the trip to Cleator to join Whitehaven MVC in performing at St Mary's Church on Saturday, September 23.
The concert was well attended with the audience being treated to some excellent male voice singing from both choirs that was enhanced by the wonderful acoustics of the church.
A spokesperson said: "Millhouse Green MVC commenced the concert with a set of five songs followed by Whitehaven MVC with their set of four songs; the choirs - 55 male voices, then sang two joint items that were very well received by those attending.
"Following the interval for refreshments, served by members of The Children’s Society, the format was then repeated in the second half, followed by presentations, with the concert being concluded with a rousing rendition of Elvis Presley’s ‘American Trilogy'.
"Whitehaven MVC would like to thank Fr Paul Johnstone for allowing the concert to be held in the St Mary's Church a location that greatly impressed our visiting choir."
Proceeds from the concert were donated to the church funds.
