Drivers in and around Copeland will have seven National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a holdup of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A595, from 8pm February 14 to 5am September 30, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Howgate Roundabout to Whitehaven, traffic signals and Weekend carriageway closures for reconstruction of carriageway.
And a further six closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A595, from 8pm August 29 to 6am December 31, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 westbound and eastbound, Sellafield to Workington, Various lane closures and carriageway closures for LED upgrade.
• A595, from 8am to 8pm on August 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Calder bridge, traffic signals for SU works (ENW).
• A595, from 6.30pm September 1 to 4am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Nursery Road to Calder Bridge, traffic signals and convoy working for Road markings and studs to be replaced.
• A595, from 8am September 4 to 4pm September 22, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Blackbeck Roundabout to Calderbridge, traffic signals for Renewal of the Calderbridge Weather Station.
• A595, from 8am September 4 to 6am September 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound, Howgate Roundabout to Tollbar Roundabout, Layby closure for Renewing Moresby Weather Station.
• A595, from 6pm September 4 to 6am September 30, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A595 northbound and southbound, Iron Bridge to Blackbeck Roundabout, Convoy working for resurfacing works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
