The last of the Town Council Summer Markets is to be held this month and so far there are 28 confirmed market traders.

The markets will be held on Friday, August 25 and there is still time for traders to apply for a place.

With stalls including Haverigg Smokery, Castle Chocolates, Sweet Treats by Martin Frickel, Maybray Cheese, Cumbria Coastal Kitchen, Busy Little Crafts, Fieldside Honey, and Sarahs Gifts, there’s something for everyone.

The markets were established 4 years ago after the collapse of the traditional Copeland Markets and were aimed at helping to increase footfall in the town centre. That sentiment is now more important than ever.

If anyone would like a space for their own gazebo or a table top space, they should contact clerk@whitehaventowncouncil.co.uk for a booking form. The markets are free to traders.

Gerard Richardson whose shop, Richardson's is close to St Nicholas' Gardens where the markets take place said: "Whether businesses just need the cash boost of an extra location for a day or whether it's a new start-up wanting to test their business on a typical weekday in town, these markets are ideal.

"Located right in the town centre and directly opposite the main bus drop off area, they could hardly be in a better location."
