It has been confirmed that the tall ship La Malouine's visit to Whitehaven has been delayed until next year.
This has been caused by mechanical problems with the ship meaning that La Malouine will now visit the town next spring.
The La Malouine is a twin-masted French Brigantine tall ship, registered in the Port of Dumfries and visited Whitehaven during the ever-popular Maritime Festivals.
The last visit to the area was in August 2022 and was organised by Whitehaven Town Council along with the Whitehaven Harbour Commission and Marina Projects Whitehaven.
Gerard Richardson, who assists the town council with events, said: "Myself and the town council are sad that the visit is having to be postponed until next spring but there are the risks you put up with when dealing with historic ships. We wish captain Roy Kerr all the best and look forward to giving him a big welcome next spring.
"In the meanwhile, our final market of the summer in St Nicolas' is Friday, August 25 and we are looking forward to that."
