A musician and songwriter from Egremont will be returning home this summer to perform at a local music festival.
Paul Shepherd, who currently lives in Manchester, will be performing at The Boof this August in Whitehaven.
Paul has had a lifetime fascination with music and started performing in his early teens.
He has played gigs across the West Cumbria area and recently performed at Lowca Fest.
Since earning a first-class honours degree at Future Works, Paul continues to live in Manchester and says that he looks forward to returning to the Whitehaven area for a homecoming concert later this month.
Mr Shepherd said: "I'm looking forward to it, it's a festival back home, there's a good line up and it should be good to play at it's always nice playing in Cumbria.
"It's nice to get back to my roots and play the same places where I started out, it's coming up to ten years this November since I played my first live acoustic gig.
"So, to come home at play at a Mighty Boof festival which I used to perform at when I was around 14 years old, it's a very nostalgic feeling.
"I played Lowca Fest in July, which was brilliant, Lee Adams was great on the sound. That's the main one I've played recently; it was a great crowd and I'm looking forward to playing again next year I've already been booked in.
"I released an EP earlier this year with my friend Liam Wright who produced my first solo EP, it was called Project Hardwood Floor.
"We were toying with ideas and Liam had just got some new Hardwood flooring installed, it rolled off the tongue well, so we decided to stick with it.
"It's similar to an EP I released last year as it's a shoegaze EP, it's a little bit different to what I've been doing in my own solo work and with bands I've worked with previously, as it isn't really indie rock which I'd say I'm known for.
"I've enjoyed it though as it has given me the chance to listen to new artists."
The Boof will be taking place on August 18 and August 19 at the Copeland Stadium in Whitehaven.
