WHITEHAVEN Amateurs under 14s girls' team is celebrating a superb season which saw them win the league and the league cup.
The coaches and the club itself are delighted with the team and all the hard work that they've put in.
Gary Barwise, one of the coaches, said: "They were chuffed, to be honest, the season before they played as Under 13s and did alright and came fourth.
"This year they were expected to do better and they did, there are high expectations with every age group and it is great to see everyone's done well, it's a big deal for the girls."
They have played 26 matches, won 23, drew two and lost one. The biggest win was 17-0 in one of the games.
The top goalscorer is Lexie Roberts who is from Egremont and scored seven goals in two matches.
Mr Barwise added: "In the county cup they came up against North Bank a Carlisle team, and they'd won the league cup the same as us so that game against them should have been the County Cup final but we got drew against them early on.
"In the League Cup we drew second, third and fourth in the run up the final and ended up playing our under 13s team in the final of the League Cup and beating them 7-0."
The club also thanked its sponsors High Grange Developments.
