A RESIDENT in Frizington has raised issues regarding traffic on the main street.
The resident, who asked not to be named, said they were concerned with how drivers are parking their vehicles in the village.
There are homes up and down the street and also a Boots Pharmacy which is regularly used and a bus stop which sees buses stopping there around every half an hour.
They claimed that they have tried to speak with Cumberland Council about the issue but no action has yet been taken.
They said: "I've contacted the council twenty times since January and have contacted the police and no-one seems to be doing anything.
"I live on Main Street in Frizington close to Boots Pharmacy, there are vehicles parking up to ten times a day directly in front of the bus stop.
"Not only where the bus stop is but in front of it on a single yellow line either partially are fully on the pavement.
"It's causing an obstruction so people can't get past and many times I've seen people have to walk in the road to get around the vehicles which can range from cars, and vans to people carriers.
"When I go out and ask them to move their vehicle as they're obstructing the bus stop I can often be verbally abused and often times people may use foul language towards me.
"I feel like the authorities are turning a blind eye, it's an ongoing issue and it's happening numerous times a day with different vehicles.
"Some of them park fully on the pavement, and some park partially on it on the single yellow line near the bus stop, I feel like it may be affecting my neighbours as well."
A Cumberland Council spokesperson said: “Frizington Main Street contains a series of enforceable traffic and parking restrictions, including the bus stop, single and double yellow lines.
"Our Parking Enforcement Officers patrol this route on a regular basis to ensure any vehicles in contravention of the restrictions are dealt with appropriately.”
