A WORLD of adventure is to be found in Whitehaven as the Beacon announces its summer programme.
Magic, dinosaurs, the ocean, and the circus will provide just some of the fun and adventure for all the family.
Special events include a mesmerising show packed with magic. With colourful props and a modern approach, host Flip will dazzle with tricks galore, madcap juggling, games and plenty of audience participation.
The magic shows are on August 21 and 29, with four shows each day.
The circus comes to the Beacon on August 15 when all ages can enjoy not just watching, but also learning some of the skills of the Big Top during four performances.
A - hopefully friendly - velociraptor will take up residence in the Beacon from July 27 to August 31.
For animal lovers looking for something smaller than a dinosaur, Pet Encounters will be at the Beacon on July 25, and August 8 and 17.
Participants can learn more about the animals they are seeing including what they eat and where they are from and more.
The museum’s fascinating Romans exhibition continues – find out all about how Romans lived in Britain and try your hand at some Roman skills.
From July 24 for six weeks, Roman craft sessions run. Each Monday will be Roman oil lamp making at 11am and 2pm. Every Friday, Roman mosaic tile-making sessions will be held at 11am and 2pm.
The museum’s other exhibition, Titanic – Honour and Glory, continues until September 17 and visitors can discover the secrets of ships and boats in ‘Beacon Voyages’ workshops.
