Lamplugh Heritage Society is set to tell the 'remarkable' story of John Laing.
The meeting of the group will take place on Thursday, June 22 at Lamplugh Village Hall, with admission costing £3.
At this meeting, Chester Forster will focus on telling the story of Carlisle-born John Laing.
John joined the family firm at 14 in 1893 and grew it to be the 'biggest building firm in Britain and possibly the world'.
Lamplugh Heritage Society said: "After some early troubles which almost ended in bankruptcy, John Laing’s attention to detail and in particular to costings, saw the firm rise to be the biggest builder in Britain and possibly the world."
