Egremont ABC boxers faced off against Workington ABC at a show at Whitehaven Golf Club.
They had two boxers having their debuts into amateur boxing, the first up was Ivan Udod in a skills contest against Mark McCracken of Currock House ABC.
Ivan used his height and reach well and kept it at range as McCracken came forward with a good variety of shots.
The second was pretty much the same with the Currock boxer keeping the pressure up and Ivan using his jab well.
The third round was a lot faster and both boxers warming into it and Ivan pushing McCracken back to the ropes, it was both boxers' first skills and they both did fantastically.
Anthony Harwood was up against the home boxer Callum Valks of Workington ABC.
Anthony started off well keeping things long and using his footwork to get out of the way of Valk's shots as the round went on.
Valk's came into it as Harwood invited the pressure preferring to box at close range.
In the second round, both boxers were happy to box again at close range Anthony catching Callum on the turns and pivots.
In the third round, Valks kept up his game tactics and willingness to take a shot and come in close Harwood was happy to stay close with him and this gave the crowd a great end to their night in a good contest. Anthony won by a unanimous decision.
