WHITEHAVEN singer, Hollie Rhiannon, 26, is gearing up to release her third single following her new record label signing.
Hollie's life has always been heavily influenced by music, she said. Her grandparents were members of the operatics society and her grandad was in the male voice choir.
Hollie's dad has also been in various different bands along with her brother, so she has always been around musical influences.
Hollie always knew from a young age that music was something she wanted to pursue. She started a YouTube channel in secondary school.
Hollie said: "When I set out to write my own music, I wanted all of my work to reflect on where I currently am in my life.
"I’ve always struggled massively with my mental health, so writing has given me an outlet and helped me to put into words the things I find difficult to speak about.
"My newest single is titled ‘Everything Is An Illusion’ and was released on March 3. It’s about growing up and losing touch with those you were once closest to.
"The people who you never imagined not having in your life, but now they’re just a part of your ‘past life’, and how it feels to have to deal with that. "
Hollie describes her sound as a mixture of some of her biggest musical influences. The likes of Phoebe Bridgers, Daughter and Julien Baker to name a few... a mixture of stripped back acoustic, alternative and 'indie folk'.
Her latest track has been described as having ‘ethereal dreamy strings’.
Hollie has recently been signed to ‘Deliberator Records’. Hollie said: "Cammy, who is my manager is very supportive and has helped massively with my creative process. He’s always more than happy to lend an ear and listen to my ideas and give me feedback.
"Being signed to the label has also opened up a world of opportunity for me in terms of gigs and getting my music more widely listened to.
"It feels surreal to actually become a signed artist. When I first got the news it was such a strange feeling and was the first time I really felt like I was good at what I was doing.
"The last few years have been very difficult for me but this has really given me the confidence boost that I needed and I don’t feel as self conscious now when I’m releasing new music."
