THIS weekend an Indian food stall will be visiting Whitehaven as a celebration of Holi.
Dosa Chaska, a popular Indian food street food stall that is making waves in Cumbria, will be at King Street this weekend.
On March 11 a Holi special event will be held in the town to celebrate the festival of colour.
It is one of the most popular and significant festivals in Hinduism and is said to celebrate the eternal and divine love of the god Radha and Krishna.
Dosa Chaska, spoke to BBC Radio Cumbria this week about the upcoming celebration, they said: "Festivals are a period of celebration and an important part of Indian culture. India is a country known for its rich culture and incredible diversity and without food, there is no festival.
"Food is an important part of Indian festivals and during the festivals usually people of the community come together and celebrate and unite.
"That's why we thought to do this food stall to bring people together."
They continued: "We'll have the colours, we'll have the nice dresses, we'll have the colours also.
"It's all about when you go to India and the part we belong to it's a major festival.
"There's a lot of food and the whole community is hugging each other and saying happy Holi.
"They're going all across the place just to meet each individual and say happy Holi."
Dosa Chaska that their food is authentic and made with love and that they believe everyone in Cumbria should have the chance to experience it.
The Holi festival-inspired menu is said to be a riot of colours and flavours. They say that people will very much enjoy the food and get a real taste of India.
