A NEW darts competition has been launched in Whitehaven.

The Whitehaven Marras & Arras group meets weekly at Whitehaven Rugby Union Club.

Last week there were 22 entries for the weekly round-robin competition.

The top two from each group made it through to the quarter finals stage. The quarter finals results were as follows:

Neil Linford 3-0 Will Rowley, Tex Houghton 3-0 Nick Twinn, Adam Jenkinson 3-1 Colin Hargrave, Mike Adams 3-2 Dave Cunningham.

The semi-finals saw Neil beat Tex 3-1 and Adam beat Mike 3-2.

In the final Adam beat Neil 3-0 to take the nights prize money and maximum vault points.

There was a total of 13 180s on the night.

David Cunningham X4, Tom Smith X2, Nicky Anderson X1, Adam Jenkinson X1, Will Rowley X2, Darren Parr X1, Colin Hargrave X2.

There were high finishes from Mike Adams 160 and Nick Twinn 118.
