A SOCIAL club based in west Cumbria has given an inside look into what they do and why they're so popular.
West Coast Gamers has clubs around the area offering people the chance to come and play a range of board and card games.
The club operates weekly in Whitehaven at The Marchon Club on a Wednesday evening, but also holds other weekly meetings in places across Copeland and Allerdale.
Darren Powe, of West Coast Gamers, said: "The group is for people who like the play card games like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Magick - The Gathering, we also have people who play Warhammer and Dungeons and Dragons amongst other games.
"Kids are allowed to attend if they're accompanied by an adult but the main age range is people between about 18 and 40, we do have a few members that are older and younger."
The club also has a sister group called West Coast Cosplay which give its members a chance to dress up as their favourite characters from comics, movies, TV shows, and books.
"It's a social group for those interested in cosplay, for those who don't know what that is, it's costume play, it's similar to fancy dress but taken a bit more serious," Mr Powe said.
"We started the group for like minded people to come together, there wasn't really any places in the area that did something like this so we thought there was a need for it.
"We meet up once a week with our sister group West Coast Gamers at The Marchon Club. Not every member has to attend every week, it's just the people who want to attend can come along."
The group will be hosting it's second 'Minicon' event next month, a mini version of Comicon after hosting a successful event last summer.
The group also run open days for people who want to find out more, if they find that they enjoy these they can start coming along to the regular meetings.
More details about both groups can be found on their social media pages.
