Next month Whitehaven will see the return of the popular Minicon event.
This mini version of Comicon was first held last year at The Marchon Club but has since moved to a bigger venue, The Solway Hall.
It was held for the first-time last year and proved to be very popular with the people of Whitehaven.
A range of items relating to comics, movies, TV shows and video games are available, competitions will be held and of course you are welcome to come dressed as your favourite character.
Darren Powe, who has helped the organise the event, said: "Minicon is back for 2023, it is a comic convention held in Whitehaven.
"After the success of the last one we knew we had to do it again, this time with a slightly bigger venue the Solway Hall.
"When we announced we were holding another event 80% of the trade tables were sold out within a week.
"We couldn’t believe how much people were excited to have another event.
"This year we have also added another competition to add to the others that we held last year.
"So not only do we have the return of the cosplay competition and the impossible quiz we also have an art competition.

"The cosplay competition is again free to enter. We have a junior and senior category where the winners and runners up of each will win trophies and cash prizes.
"The art competition is also free to enter again with junior and senior categories and prizes for the winners.
"We also have the return of the raffle. West Coast Gamers are joining us again to put on a card tournament, which will most likely be Pokémon and or Yu-Gi-Oh!."
The event will be held on March 25 between 12pm and 5pm, more information can be found on the West Coast Cosplay social media page.
Tickets for Minicon are £2 each and under 10s can enter for free.
