Whitehaven Town Council have announced the dates of the Cumbrian Traders days, their popular free markets held in St Nicholas Gardens in Whitehaven town centre.
The dates are Friday, May 26, Friday, June 30 (this date may also host an Antiques Fair), Friday, July 28, Friday, August 25 and the Christmas Fair which is in Friday, December 8.
The Christmas Fair will finish with a fireworks display repeating the one that packed Whitehaven Harbour in December 2022.
The markets are for traders who make it or bake it in Cumbria and table space is completely free of charge. The range of traders includes crafts and foods.
Whitehaven Trader, Louise Savage from Richardson's who assist the town council in staging the events said: "These events have grown in popularity since they started in 2019 and we’ve noticed an increase in trade in our own shop as well, when the markets are on, so we are delighted.
"The markets are a credit to the council clerks, Marlene and Vanessa without whom they simply wouldn't happen."
Whitehaven mayor, Charles Maudling, added: "Im delighted with the growing popularity of the markets and in fact they were so popular last summer, we had to have a reserve list for space.
"Whitehaven Town Council are proud to support the town centre with our events and this years list is the best yet."
Traders Markets organised by the Town Council have been held in the town frequently over recent years and have proved to be popular with members of the community and visitors.
The full list of Town Council Events for the year will be posted soon in the town notice board in St Nicholas Gardens.
