A POPULAR Whitehaven band have big plans for the year ahead - after having their music played on national radio.
Springfield consists of Rhys Pritchard, his brother Lewis, Mitchell Sloan, Ben Tucker and Ellis Ferguson.
The band formed originally around six years ago but Ellis has been a part of the band for three years.
Lewis Pritchard said: "We all loved music as kids. I remember wanting to play in a band from a really young age, before I could even play an instrument. It's also just great fun they have a creative outlet, especially with your mates.
"We've been lucky enough to play some really cool gigs such as a slot at Kendal Calling or supporting the likes of The Lottery Winners.
"We've travelled all over the country and we always say if one person likes the band at the gig, then that's success to us.
"Our latest single was picked by Gemma Bradley to be played on BBC Radio 1 Introducing show which is pretty cool. It's something we had as a goal for a few years, so it was a real milestone for the band."
The band explained that 2023 will see the release of new music and there's plans going on in the background for more gigs.
They say they should hopefully be able to announce some dates for the gigs soon.

Mr Pritchard added: "We want to keep playing as many shows as possible. The reason we are a band in the first place is to play live. We want to be in a band going from gig to gig as much as possible."
