A WHITEHAVEN band have released their first ever single and are hoping to get to the very top of the music scene.
Evan Barlow, 25, Jake Robson, 21, Thomas Todd, 29 and Alfie Hodgson, 17, were brought together by a mutual friend who knew that Evan had hopes of starting a band and needed members.
Evan, Jake and Thomas had a few rehearsals before realising they needed a lead guitarist.
This is when Alfie Hodgson, who was in another band at the time, left to see what they had to offer.
The band's name is 'The Window View', which was chosen when Evan overheard a child asking his mother if he could have the window seat on the train back to Whitehaven.
The new single is called 'Sunset Paradise'. Alfie said: "Writing our first single was a exciting time and we were all full of ideas on how it should sound and which direction the tune should take.
"Recording the song was amazing when you finally hear the music come alive."
The Window View's sound is very inspired by the early '90s Britpop scene and Alfie said it has a "shoegaze jangly sound, so the tones that are created are dark but beautiful."
The band has landed several gigs across Cumbria and some support gigs as far as Manchester. Alfie said: "Playing gigs is a class feeling, playing tunes with your best mates and seeing everyone having a mega time and dancing and singing along."
The Window View hope to produce an album in the future and play at festivals such as Kendal Calling. The band said: "We’re all hoping to go to the very top of the music scene."
