A WHITEHAVEN supermarket helped to spread some festive cheer by donating oranges for a Christingle service.
Sharon Graham, Morrisons Community Champion, paid a visit to St James’ C of E Infant and Nursery School in Whitehaven to hand over the oranges for the annual service at St James’ Church.
Mrs Anna Jones, lay reader at the Church, who led the Christmas Eve service, accepted the donated oranges from Sharon, alongside children from Key Stage One.
The children had just performed their Nativity story ‘Lights, Camels, Action’ based on the popular programme ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with a Nativity twist!
Mrs Jones said: “A big thank you to Morrisons for this donation.
“The children had worked really hard and put on a wonderful performance. Both staff and audience enjoyed the enthusiasm of the children and were very proud of what they had done.”
