A cafe in Whitehaven is offering Christmas dinners over the festive period.
Cafe West are welcoming guests to enjoy a classic Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, served with a side of cranberry sauce and gravy.
The cafe is a much-loved venue in Whitehaven; offering tea, coffee and a full morning and afternoon menu for the people of our town to enjoy.
Of course, as Christmas is here, they've tried to offer something special, and they definitely did not disappoint.
A member of the Newsquest team headed along to Cafe West to try one for themselves and were left feeling very pleased.
The meal included: turkey, roast potatoes, Brussel sprouts, stuffing, carrot and swede mash, and mashed potatoes.
It is worth a visit for anyone passing through town and would be perfect on a cold day whilst out shopping over Christmas.
A range of hot and cold drinks are also available to have with the meal.
The service was quick, and staff were very polite making sure that I had everything that was needed.
When first walking into the cafe you can tell that it is very popular. The staff were very friendly with customers, and many seemed to know each other which we can assume means that the cafe has lots of regulars.
To make it extra special at peak times of the year like Christmas, Halloween and Easter the cafe has its window display decorated by volunteers which adds a certain touch. This proves very popular with customers, especially the young people and children.
Cafe West is run by the West House group which also has cafes in Workington and Keswick.
They are ran as social enterprises and are not-for-profit and provide work experience and training for young people and adults with special needs.
