THIS week our Trader of the Week is The Rum Story in Whitehaven which is opening its cafe area for the first time since Covid.
The Rum Story offers a range of attractions including a popular museum and a shop.
It will now be reopening its cafe after two years of being closed; they also offer a night time venue, The Vault, which can be hired our for parties and other events.
The cafe will offer a range of food and drink and visitors can either sit in the main area or out in the courtyard.
It will also be pet friendly so people will be more than welcome to bring along their dogs whilst they enjoy something to eat and drink.
Louise Mckenna, the manager of The Rum Story, said: "It's fantastic news for everyone of Whitehaven and especially us here at The Rum Story. We're opening The Rum Story cafe again and the function rooms down in the vault.
"We will be doing this on January 3, a local guy will be coming in and he's going to be running that.
"There's going to be cakes, hot food sandwiches and hot soup will be available in The Rum Story cafe seven days a week from 10am until 4pm.
"We've also got The Vault area which will be able to be hired out for events, it's a great area for baby showers, parties and even wedding receptions; if you've got any events, you'd like us to host please just give us a call and we'll be able to sort that out.
"The cafe has been open before, unfortunately it closed down at the beginning of Covid in March 2020. It just didn't reopen after that with times being hard for a lot of people.
"So we have slowly been working our way back up from opening part time, to opening the shop to now being open seven days a week at The Rum Story visitor attraction in the centre of Whitehaven.
"This gives a fantastic look at the story of rum through time as told through the eyes of the Jefferson's family.
"That goes from the rainforests in Antigua through to prohibition in America, it's surprising how much influence rum has had on the world. The final part of this is to get the cafe reopened in our courtyard."
