A WHITEHAVEN woman is set to make over 60 Christmas dinners this year to help those struggling due to the cost-of-living crisis.
Shaza Marsden decided to offer her cooking services and make Christmas dinners to anyone who is struggling this year; she will be making the dinners leading up to Christmas and delivering them for people to warm up.
As we get closer to Christmas, Shaza said she was worried whether people were going have a warm meal, never mind a present to open, this Christmas
So she spread the message on Facebook offering the dinners to anyone elderly, single or with family, even those who cannot cook or do not want to cook if they are on their own.
Shaza explained that the cost of living crisis pushed her to take up this task. She said: "I think if we all help each other even if it is just a little bit then we're helping massively overall.
"Of course it'll be stressful, I have plenty of people coming to help and hopefully that will lessen the load.
"I want to help as many people who I can that are struggling."
"Things are tough for people at the moment and I think if we all could just do one kind thing this Christmas it would make a massive difference to people who really need help."
However, Shaza is not just doing one kind thing, she now has received over 60 orders and counting.
To help with buying the produce, people can donate via PayPal (@shazzzzzza1986@hotmail.com).
Donations are at £275 currently. Shaza has also been donated an ASDA voucher which has helped to buy all the meat, turkey, gammon, sausages and bacon.
But Shaza has still put a lot of her own funding towards this by buying things in her weekly shop such as stuffing, gravy, mince pies, cranberry sauce and custard and jelly for the trifles.
Mirehouse AFC are allowing Shaza to use their facilities on December 23 and 24 to make the dinners.
