DATA from the 2021 census shows that Copeland and Allerdale have the least ethnic diversity, making them the most white areas in the UK.
Office for National Statistics data from the 2021 census shows that 96.7 per cent of people in both local authorities identified their ethnic group as White, specifically "English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish or British".
In the 2011 census, Allerdale was still in the top two along with Redcar and Cleveland for the ethnic group titled "White British" with a percentage of 97.6. Copeland were fifth with 97.3 per cent.
Redcar and Cleveland, who were originally the top two most white local authorities dropped to 96.5 per cent. Staffordshire Moorlands was third for the least amount of ethnic diversity with 96.6 per cent.
Residents of Carlisle and Eden were 92.7 per cent and 94.8 per cent "English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish or British".
The next leading group in Copeland identified themselves as "Other White" and that group held 1 per cent of Copeland population. In Allerdale, the same ethnicity was the second most common group at 1.4 per cent.
The next most common ethnicity in Copeland was "Asian, Asian British or Asian Welsh: Other Asian" and "Mixed or Multiple ethnic groups: White and Asian" at just 0.3 per cent. In Allerdale, "Mixed or Multiple ethnic groups: White and Asian" and "White: Irish" were next with 0.3 per cent.
