A CREATIVE Christmas market was hailed a success this weekend with more than 500 attendees.
The market, which was held at Distington Walled Garden event, hosted a range of stalls. Things on offer at the market ranged from plants, to confectionery, antiques, to crafts, needlework, to candles, and cocktails to Christmas creations.
The crowds were entertained by Moresby Choir and Whitehaven Brass Band.
Andy Pratt, Portfolio Holder for Parks and Open Spaces, said:
“The weather certainly didn’t dampen the Christmas spirit over the weekend, with hundreds of people browsing our Christmas stalls.
“We’d like to thank our staff, volunteers, stall holders and entertainers, for making the event a huge success, despite some last-minute challenges that the adverse weather forecast brought.
“Santa even took time out of his busy schedule to give Christmas gifts to children – a fun time was had by all.”
The Christmas Market was the third event held at the walled garden since it was transformed over the last year.
