Drivers in and around Carlisle will have three National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

But motorists will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of less than 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that four closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:

• A69, from 7pm October 5 to 6am December 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Brampton Bypass to Temon, one lane closed with traffic signals to allow safety barrier replacement.

• A69, from 7pm November 14 to 7am December 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Brampton Bypass, one lane closed with traffic signals to allow carriageway resurfacing.

• A66, from 9am October 24 to 5pm November 28, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound, Cockermouth to Workington, traffic signals for new footway from housing estate.

• A66, from 9am October 17 to 4.30pm December 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Lambfoot, junction to Dubwath, traffic signals for Installation of vehicle activated signs.

And three more closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A69, from 7pm November 23 to 6am November 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A69 Tarn Road Bridge - traffic signals to carry out combined structure inspection and maintenance.

• A66, from 7.30pm November 27 to 5am November 29, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 eastbound and westbound, Burns, junction to Low Briery, Lane closure and traffic signals for patching.

• A66, from 9.30am December 5 to 3.30pm December 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 Bassenthwaite Lake, traffic signals for SU works (BT).

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
