MAYFIELD School are bringing Christmas Markets to Cumbria with an inclusive approach so all can be involved.
The Christmas Markets are to be held on Saturday December 3 and will be raising money for the Mayfield School Development Fund which helps buy extra developmental assets for the school.
The event will include arts and crafts stalls, shopping stalls including bows, the Body Shop and many more for you to complete your Christmas shopping.
The event is open to everyone and will include sensory rooms so everyone can get involved.
Kathryn Metcalfe, who works at Mayfield School said:
"It is really important to us that the event is inclusive to everyone which is why we included the sensory rooms. It is open to everyone but inclusive for all kids."
" The Father Christmas at the markets can do makaton and sign language so the children can communicate with him."
There will be raffles at the event with some big prizes such as a pod stay for two people and a £100 voucher, among many other prizes.
Kathryn said:
"The children at school are really, really excited. Some kids have a stalls themselves and are making things such as guess the weight of the cake where they will bake the cake themslves and help run the stall."
There is live music at the evnt and different Christmas foods.
Kathryn said:
"I want everyoen to know it is open to everyone and it will be great shopping day to support local businesses."
