A popular pub in Whitehaven has helped to raise money for a new defibrillator to be fitted on the harbourside.
The Royal Standard held a charity fundraising event with staff and customers donating money to help to raise funds for the cause.
The fundraiser involved numerous staff members using electric bikes to cover the distance of the Coast to Coast.
Around £1500 was raised which has paid for the defibrillator outside the pub which can be used at any time of the day by someone in need.
Claire Newton, landlady of the Royal Standard said: "We did the virtual Coast to Coast and had the bikes in the pub. They were hired from the gym and once they started, they couldn't be stopped as the pedals just kept going.
"We thought that it would be a good idea to do the virtual Coast to Coast as Whitehaven harbour is the starting point for it.

"The staff and volunteers had to continually do it without stopping until we got the money and we managed to raise it extremely quickly. It took us nine days to raise £1500.
"One bike had a member of staff on it at all times whilst another was used by a mix of volunteers and customers in the pub.
"Once we'd got all of the money we still went ahead and finished the challenge.
"We've got the defibrillator and it's installed and fitted. Hopefully it will never need to be used but if it does need to be we've now got it ready to use on the harbour.
"It is situated at the front of the pub and can be accessed 24/7 by anybody so the pub doesn't have to be open for people to use it."
