AN Egremont man has appeared in court charged with 21 historic child sex offences.
Donald Eaton, 71, pleaded not guilty to 20 charges of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 and one charge of committing a serious sexual assault on a boy under 16 years of age.
The offences are alleged to have taken place in the 1980s.
Eaton is accused of committing the serious sexual assault on the alleged victim when the boy was 10 years old.
At a hearing held at Workington Magistrates’ Court yesterday the case was sent to Carlisle Crown Court for a pre-trial preparation hearing on November 21.
Eaton, of Beckgreen, Egremont, was granted unconditional bail until that date.
