Rehearsals are well underway for Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society’s latest production.
The society are putting on the perennial favourite show “The Addams Family” at Rosehill Theatre from Tuesday, November 1 until Saturday, November 5.
The musical, written by composer Andrew Lippa, made its Broadway debut in 2010 and is based on the famous American television show.
The show tells the story of Wednesday, a member of the Addams Family who falls in love with a normal boy, Lucas.
“This is a really fun show, and the cast are having a blast practicing at the rehearsals” said chair of the society Lynn McTiffin.
“It is also a deceptively tricky show to learn technically but everyone is working so hard & loving every minute.”
“We are really raising the bar in order to deliver a unique & intimate show to our audience and its all systems go for an exciting show!”
The show is director by local theatre veteran James Last, choreographed by Tracy McQuat and Mike Aimes is once again taking up the baton as music director.
The Whitehaven and District Amateur Operatic Society have been a fixture in the area since the early 20th Century and recent performances have included Annie, The Sound of Music, Sister Act and Oliver.
