A man with a “flagrant disregard for court orders” has been jailed after he assaulted a woman while on post-sentence supervision.
Jordan Dobson, 31, of Greenthwaite, Cleator Moor, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault by beating when he appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court.
The offence took place in Whitehaven on July 31.
Dobson was sentenced to 11 weeks in prison. Magistrates deemed the offence to be so serious that only a custodial sentence could be justified.
This was due to the defendant having a “flagrant disregard for court orders”, extensive previous convictions against the same complainant, and the offence being committed during post-sentence supervision.
Dobson must pay £85 in court costs on his release from prison.
