A MAJOR West Cumbrian music festival will still go ahead this weekend, despite the death of the Queen.
Following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II organisers behind Whitehaven Alive have issued the following statement, ahead of this weekend's events: “All at Whitehaven Alive are immensely saddened to hear of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts - and the thoughts of people across the United Kingdom - are with Her Majesty’s family at this time.
“Following careful consideration, this weekend’s events will still be going ahead. We will pay tribute and show our respect to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II both on the harbour and at both concerts on Friday and Saturday.
“Ticket holders with outstanding queries are asked to email our customer service team hello@whitehavenalive.com.”
Events will take place in Whitehaven throughout the weekend with an array of food stalls and a market on the Harbour
The main event village will be taking place on Whitehaven Harbour throughout the weekend and will include a food and producers’ market, family activities, a range of brands from across food, drink and home as-well as a Porsche car display and attractions such as a Ferris Wheel. The harbour village is free for all to attend.
