There were smiles, cheers and some tears as Year 11 students collected their GCSE results today.
Students at St Benedicts School in Whitehaven received their grades either via e-mail, or in school, where students who are staying on at sixth form, also had their interviews.

Jessica Broatch said she had not expected to do so well.
She will now complete A-levels in biology, sociology, health and social care and an extended project qualification.
Jessica hopes to study physiotherapy at university.
Twins Adam and Mason Garner were both pleased with their results.
Adam said: “I’m happy. I wasn’t expecting as many 9s. I’m very happy.”
He will study maths, biology, physics and English Language at sixth form.
Mason said: “I’m really happy with them. I was thinking I was going to get a bit lower. Especially in history, I wasn’t expecting a 9.”
He will study history, maths, physics, and chemistry at sixth form.
Emma Jackson, headteacher at St Benedict’s said: “I am extremely pleased with the results for our Year 11 group this year, and proud of how hard the students have all worked over the last two years.
“We would like to wish each and every student all the best for their futures. We are looking forward to welcoming lots of them back to our sixth form in September.”
Mrs Hannan, head of Year 11, said: “I am immensely proud of our Year 11 students. They are a credit to themselves, their families and our school. The last two years have been difficult but they have risen to the challenge and I cannot praise them enough.”
