KICK OFF the weekend with fun and games at an activity group in Mirehouse every Saturday.
ParkPlay, an initiative backed by Sports England, brings free activities to green spaces - from rounders to frisbee.
The sessions, funded by Well Whitehaven, will run every Saturday at 9:30am, starting September 10.

Luke Richardson, chair of Well Whitehaven, said: "This is a great way for families to get outdoors, enjoy meeting new friends and keep active, and the best part is – it's free."
This initiative will bring the community together, and help residents to stay active at the weekends, for free.
The events will be held at the South Whitehaven Family Action Hub. Well Whitehaven’s aim is to create a healthier population in Mirehouse, Corkickle and Snebro.
The activities are led by play leaders and tailored weekly to reflect what visitors enjoy. All ages and experience levels are welcome, and all the equipment is provided.
Rick Jenner, Chief Executive Officer of ParkPlay, said: “It’s never been more important to lead an active lifestyle, and more and more people understand the wide benefits it can bring.
“Many people aren’t interested in traditional clubs and teams, and are put off by organised sports - we’re for anyone and everyone.”
