THIS month, one lucky Cumbrian local bagged themselves the £10,000 Premium Bonds prize making their bank account slightly heavier this month.
NS&I recently announced their high value winners for August. Amongst the line up, there is one lucky Cumbrians who has won the 10k prize.
Our readers spoke about their bonds and if they have ever won:
A lot of people spoke about how 10k in the current climate does not mean as much as it once did. The cost-of-living crisis is causing bills to soar, one user joked:
"Can maybe buy a half decent second-hand car, if they are lucky, or two years energy."
Steve Wadds replied saying:
"Reducing to eighteen months come October."
However, Dorothy McGuire still saw the good that 10k can do, saying:
"It's still £10, 000 they didn't have yesterday so still a bonus. If it wouldn't make a difference to your life then lucky you."
May other users were hoping they were the winner of the prize money.
Zaran said: "I have one of these somewhere from when i was a kid in Cumbria ..must hunt it out ..."
Margaret said: "Hope it’s me"
