A drink-driver who was more than twice the legal limit has been banned from getting behind the wheel for 20 months.
Daniel Weaver, 27, was driving a Citreon Relay van on Arlecdon Road when the offence took place on June 18.
He had 76mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
The defendant, of Lingla Gardens, Frizington, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle with alcohol above the limit.
He appeared at Workington Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Weaver was banned from driving for 20 months, to be reduced by 20 weeks, if he completes a drink driver’s rehabilitation course.
He was fined £350 and must pay £85 costs and a £140 victim surcharge.
