ONE aspect of the support the Prime Minister receives from his MPs puzzles me.

The current incumbent has threatened to renege on an agreement he freely signed (the Northern Ireland Protocol).

I cannot be alone in expecting that no leader from another country would freely sign a binding agreement with the UK, if they doubted the UK would conform with the agreement.

It follows that the UK government will be unable to successfully conclude any substantive trade deal.

With 59 per cent of his MPs supporting him, the Prime Minister survives a vote of confidence: but to do what?

On the world stage he can posture, but only to an empty room.

Do either Trudy Harrison or Mark Jenkinson feel able to justify their support for the current Prime Minister?
