IMPROVEMENTS will be made to school facilities in Copeland thanks to a share of £498 million Government funding.
Four schools will benefit from a share of the Condition Improvement Fund which will support 1,405 similar building improvement projects in academies, sixth forms, colleges and voluntary-aided schools nation-wide.
Copeland MP Trudy Harrison said: “I am delighted that four schools in the Copeland constituency are to receive funding for building improvements from the Department of Education.
“The DofE has announced the list of successful applicants to its annual round of the Condition Improvement Fund.”

West Lakes Academy will use a portion of the funds for the partial replacement of its heating system and replacement of its biomass boiler.
Arlecdon Primary School will receive funding for a partial electrical refurbishment and fire safety improvements.
Dean School will use its share of the funding for roof and building structure remedial work.
The Government’s £498 million fund is designed to address significant issues that cannot be resolved through school budgets including building improvements, compliance, energy efficiency and health and safety.
