Cleator Moor Boxing Club were in action on recently at the Workington Town Show at the Golf Club.
Aiden Butterworth of Cleator Moor had a skills bout with Jake Nugent of Currock House in Carlisle.
Desmond Mattinson of Cleator Moor Boxing Club said: "Butterworth showed good boxing skills, a good range of combination punches and fast foot work. He was a credit to the club.
"Nugent also put on a good performance and was a credit to his club."
Ben Clements of Cleator Moor had his debut bout against Bobby Parker of The Underdog Boxing Club in Maryport. This turned out to be the junior bout of the night.
Mr Mattinson said: "In Round 1 Clements went a touch close at the start of the contest. Parker fired a combination of punches which caught Clements cold. Clements fought back, securing combinations and getting the better of the exchanges. He then went onto win the round.
"In Round 2 Clements kept the same tactics going forward and working to the head and body, landing a degree of punches in the competitive round.
"In the third and final round both boxers came on strong looking for the big punch. Clements got the better of the exchanges landing cleaner punches. Parker fought back but it was too little too late and Clements won the round unanimously."
Coach Arron Adair was more than pleased with how the boxers performed in their first meet since the pandemic began.
