Organisers of the first Cumbrian Traders Market of the year are keen to attract more local food producers.
The event will be held at St Nicholas' Gardens in Whitehaven on Friday, May 27 and food producers from across west Cumbria are being encouraged to come forward and showcase their goods.
Gerard Richardson, a wine merchant and member of Whitehaven Town Council events committee said: "We know the central Lakes area is awash with fine food producers but we are keen to showcase west Cumbrian producers, so if you make it, grow it, brew it, distil it,cook it or catch it and want to sell it on a totally free stall, please contact myself or Whitehaven Town Council, as soon as possible."
"As the market is a week before the Jubilee celebrations, the town will also be decked out in red white and blue bunting so the atmosphere will be really lovely."
The markets have been running for three years now and are restricted to Cumbrian made products. For more details please email gerard@richardsonsoffice.net
