With plans on-hold for what would have been Seaton Carnival 2021, we're taking a look back on the popular event's history – throwing it back to 2016.
The village basked in a party atmosphere just five years ago, with hundreds gathering to attend the carnival – despite the drizzly weather.
Zombies, princesses, fairies, pirates, sailors, football fans, superheroes, dance troupes, Pharoahs, Minions and Jungle Book characters were among those who took part in the procession which was led by Workington Town Band.
Among the performers were Lard of the Dance, a group of Irish dancers made up of Pack Horse regulars, with Paul Sloane as Michael Fattley, a parody of dancer Michael Flatley.
While Covid may have blocked the carnival' for 2020 and 2021, there are plenty of fond memories to look back on – and plenty more to look forward to, as well.
